O Voto

By 2070, the Amazon could be pushed to collapse. Cunhaporanga isn’t going to hope for the best. For her, protecting her land, people and culture isn’t a wish. It’s a vow. So she’s using her Instagram to share simple, actionable tips urging us to act now in order to prevent this future. "O Voto" is a call to action. By connecting large-scale catastrophic consequences to everyday behaviors, the Instagram series empowers viewers to adopt simple but meaningful changes in their daily lives. The initiative positions individual responsibility and collective action as the ultimate tools to prevent this 2070 vision from becoming a reality.
Here's how it worked:
Instead of her usual signature lush Amazonian landscapes and rich ethnographic storytelling, Cunhaporanga began posting a series of reels straight from the year 2070. Each reel was narrated by an aged version of the creator and grounded in actual projections by Instituto Oya. She immerses viewers in a haunting visualization of a degraded Amazon, shaped by climate change and unchecked consumerism.
Each reel in the series serves as a narrative fragment of a realistic 2070, focusing on specific and interconnected crisis from plastic pollution to health and income generation. Crucially, every video will include a caption offering simple, practical actions viewers can take in their daily lives to help avoid the dystopian future they’ve just witnessed. The initiative positions individual responsibility and collective action as the ultimate tools to rewrite tomorrow.
This long form was posted following the initial surprise as her reels dropped. In the film, Cunhaporanga shares a powerful message: she refuses to look back wishing she had done more. That's why, with a massive global platform, she is determined to use her creativity to inspire millions to take action.
