Instagram made history by securing a partnership with the MTA to design the last-ever limited edition MetroCard.
CREATIVITY HAPPENS HERE: The New York MTA is where creativity happens. From busking jazz musicians to the latest gore-core fashion trends, the subway can transform into a stage, runway, canvas, or podium that inspires New Yorkers to express themselves in the most creative ways. Through our partnership with the MTA we used our iconic IG Metro-card to frame the creativity that happens every day on the subway.
PIGEON DELIVERY:
To tease the launch and deliver the MetroCard to our hero creators, we hired the most iconic talent in NY—pigeons. We captured social-first Reels on the streets of NY featuring pigeons dropping off the cards to NY’s most prolific creators @subwaytakes, @newyorknico, and @overheardnewyork.
P.S. Humane Society was on set to ensure no pigeons were harmed in the making of these films 🐦
